You also need the DeskLeap app on your iPad (iPadOS 17 or later).

In Terminal, run this and compare the result with the SHA-256 above:

Install

  1. Open the disk image and open DeskLeap. DeskLeap offers to move itself to your Applications folder. Let it: permissions and Open at Login don't stick when it runs from the disk image.
  2. Find it in the menu bar. DeskLeap is a menu bar app with a display icon. It has no Dock icon.
  3. Grant Screen Recording. This lets DeskLeap show the Mac's screen on your iPad. Until both permissions are on, the menu shows ⚠︎ Set Up Permissions…, which opens a window with a button for each. macOS may ask you to reopen DeskLeap after you grant it.
  4. Grant Accessibility. This lets your iPad's keyboard, mouse, trackpad, touch and Pencil control the Mac.
  5. Allow Local Network access when macOS asks. It's needed for your iPad to find the Mac.
  6. Optional: turn on Open at Login in DeskLeap's settings, so the Mac is always ready for your iPad, even after a restart.
